Classic Tales

This is what Michael, Corey, Elizabeth, and William read today. We had a great discussion about what happened in the book!

Elizabeth said it started off that the coyote said he was faster than the rabbit.

Corey then told us that the rabbit wanted to race but wanted to trick the coyote.

Then William said that the rabbit went to his brothers for help.

Michael told us that the rabbit kept going underground and being ahead of the coyote. In which, William said that coyote was really confused!

We won't reveal the ending but it was a great story about tricksters!

Book Trailers

For our second PBL, we learned perspective through books. There were four different groups that met each day in their "book club" and discussed what they had learned from reading the night before. To get other students excited for reading over the summer we made book trailers. Here are some of the trailers we have so far! We hope you enjoy.

Finished Products

Here are their final products!

THE WINNER IS.....

This model held the most weight and used ALL of the jelly beans! Congratulations William, Alex, and Evan.

This house held TWO SOCIAL STUDIES BOOKS! Unfortunately, they didn't use all of the jelly beans so they were not allowed to win. I was still impressed though! The inventors of this group were Jake, Kristopher, and Joshua.

Jelly Bean Domes

We are completing a STEM activity today. The boys are making Jelly Bean Domes and we are going to see whose will hold the most weight. They are practicing their engineering skills! They made sure to make their blueprint first.
